The Great Sesame Street Post

Posted August 25th, 2008 By Matt

I’ve thought a bit and I have no real clever way to introduce this, so I’m just gonna get down to it:

Sesame Street spoofed 30 Rock.

That’s right. I’m not kidding. As bizarre and weird as it may seem for a kids TV show to spoof a low rated, critically acclaimed comedy, Sesame Street is airing it’s spoof “30 Rocks” starting Liz Lemon (an actual lemon) and Jack the Boss. It even has the 30 Rock theme song and, god knows, educational value.

But wait there’s more Will Arnett is appearing in an episode of Sesame Street this season as well. And wait for it Arrested Development fans, he’s playing a magician. While he may be doing math instead of illusions, I bet he does a fantastic job.

I’ve posted the Sesame Street Preview below: (Will Arnett appears around 0:50 and the “30 Rocks” is around 1:40)
And since this is The Great Sesame Street Post, here’s a link to Tina playing a Bookaneer.
And a funny little interview about her guesting on Sesame Street.
And the article where I found this “30 Rocks” stuff.

Seeing how I probably wont be tuning into Sesame Street, if anyone knows where to find the full version of the 30 Rocks spoof, please share!

Season 3 Promo…sort of

Posted August 22nd, 2008 By Matt

Here’s the 30 Rock Emmy brag fest promo that has been airing during the Olympics on NBC.

Once again it doesn’t have any new clips yet. But if you think about it 38 million people watched Phelps swim his 8th gold. And only 6 million at most watch 30 Rock. So that means to over 30 million people, this was new footage. I’m ok with NBC reaching out to the masses, just so long as they eventually hook us fans up with something soon!

NBC Fall Previews - Comedy Night

Posted August 20th, 2008 By Matt

This clip was shown during NBC’s Prime Time Previews. It highlights Thursday night comedies. The 30 Rock stuff is towards the end (After all the Kath & Kim stuff…) There’s no new footage really, but it’s still exciting to see 30 Rock promoted. Besides, what’s better than a mash-up of old clips with a voice over?

(Did we mention it got nominated for 17 Emmys?)

Here’s a look:

Tina and Steve Carell to star in “Date Night”

Posted August 15th, 2008 By Matt

As a fan of both 30 Rock (duh) and The Office, I believe this might be the best casting news I’ve ever heard.

Variety is reporting that Tina Fey and Steve Carell are teaming up for a movie!! Needless to say, I’m excited! How great will the two be together?!

You can read the article here.

Thanks to Sophie for the tip!

Predicting Emmy Submissions

Posted August 14th, 2008 By Matt

After getting nominated based on their one episode submission, shows in the Best Series category choose 6 episodes to send in to showcase their season.  They are on 3 tapes of two episodes a piece.  This year 30 Rock was nominated for sending in “Cooter.”  Now they choose six episodes to run in the Outstanding Comedy Series race.

30 Rock has submitted their tapes and it should be leaked to the public in the next week or so.   I’m always curious to see what they are, since they can secure or loose an Emmy for the show.

In anticipation, I thought we could throw around our thoughts on which 6 episodes 30 Rock should and will have picked.
I’ll leave my thoughts in the comments below.

NBC Promo and 50,000 hits!

Posted August 10th, 2008 By Matt

So I guess we should just be thankful that 30 Rock got a 3rd season. And if NBC doesn’t want to promote it just yet, we should be patient. But in the mean time lets play a game!

NBC released a promo during the Olympics highlighting it’s fall line up. Hidden amongst this promo are two old 30 Rock clips. One with Liz, and one with Jack. See if you can tell what episode/context these clips are from. (I can only get one of them myself.)

In other news, a cool thing happened at PCB the other day. We reached 50,000 hits on the site! I think that’s pretty awesome and I’d like to thank you all for visiting the site.

Possible Live Episode

Posted August 4th, 2008 By Matt

According to EW there’s a rumor going around that 30 Rock is bidding to air a live episode after the Super Bowl:

Now that the much-anticipated Office spin-off is on the back burner while writer Greg Daniels develops a comedy for Amy Poehler, NBC has to find a show to follow the Super Bowl on Feb. 1. A new episode of The Office seems like the most obvious choice, though far more enlightening alternatives may exist elsewhere on the schedule. To wit: The cast of 30 Rock had previously considered whether to pitch a live telecast after it successfully performed an episode at New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theater last winter. Says a network insider: ”It’s still unclear at this point, but we’re gonna put the best asset we can in that slot.” So don’t hold your breath, Lipstick Jungle fans. — Lynette Rice” -Ew

Now I understand that this is both a ways off and a lot of wishful thinking, but the very idea is pretty exciting.  I mean how awesome would this be?!  The cast would be great doing a live show considering Tina, Jack, Tracy, Jane, Scott, and even Alec have a lot of experience with live performance.

At this point I’d put money on NBC airing an hour Office Special, but I think it would be cool if they considered one live episode of 30 Rock followed by an episode of the Office.  That would help give our show the audience and awareness it deserves.

Moonvest and the Mattster Return

Posted August 3rd, 2008 By Moonvest

Alright, so just as a precursor, no one actually calls him the Mattster, although I might start. But the title is only the truth other than that! We’re back! Hope everyone had a fantastic most of the summer because I know both Matt and I certainly did. Big props to Shark Eyes keeping us going over these two months, trust me, we both owe her big time and she will collect. Hopefully we get some 30 Rock/Emmy buzz soon! It’s good to be back!
